Students who receive consistent help in the early grades are more likely to stay engaged, ask questions, and keep up with their class. Tutoring Solutions NYC places volunteers directly in Manhattan public elementary classrooms so that support happens where students already learn.

Our Mission

We place volunteers in Manhattan elementary classrooms to help students strengthen academic skills and grow more confident in their ability to learn.

The program is designed for high school and college students who want meaningful service. Volunteers tutor during the school day, working with students on reading, writing, and math in partnership with classroom teachers.

This is not an after-school drop-in. It is structured, in-classroom support so students receive help in the place they spend their day.

Connect

Volunteers are matched with a Manhattan elementary classroom and work with the same students on a regular schedule.

Support where students already learn

One-on-one and small-group tutoring at the student’s desk.

Your time can change a student’s year.

Ambassadors help the program grow. Tutors work directly with students. Both roles begin with a short application.
